A small collection of papers relating to the Vassall family and Pownalborough, Me., including documents and letters of William Vassall and Jonathan Bowman relating to Vassall's land holdings near the Kennebec River. The collection also includes valuations and tax rates for defraying church expenses in the west precinct of Pownalborough and a petition to the Mass. General Court from the Episcopalians there objecting to taxation assessed by the Congregationalists.
